Living room and dining room

After freshening up Ella's room, the next priority was the living and dinning rooms, formally a shocking color of yellow. 

We painted the baseboards white, the walls "teepee brown" by Behr and replaced the old gold light covers for white! 

And the (much) improved room: (I do realize the walls look different in every pictures, you will just have to come and see it!)

Light covers: a budget-minded girl's statement piece

Ella's new light covers add a fun pop of color to her room! 

I bought some Scotch Expressions tape ($1 off coupon in your paper this week) and taped away! 

As you can see, the previous owners painted white on the actual plug? Can you do that and not ruin the outlet? 

Gillespie Treeapartment no more

Josh and I bought our first home this month. The journey was long, searching for over two years, but we saw the Lord's faithfulness so clearly.

We closed last Friday, the 16th. After sitting in the car together for a few minutes saying not much more than "we.just.bought.a.house", we went home to get Ella from the sitter, changed into painting clothes, and headed to OUR house! 

The first thing I wanted to tackle was Ella's room. It is the only room on the second floor that we are painting and I wanted it ready for her to move in. 

The room was previously a mixture between a light mint color and scuff marks. We began painting the baseboards white, then painted the walls grey to match her room decor and quilt.

And now for the new and improved color! 

Ella approves!

Pacifiers aren't meant to be shared

Had some girl time with my sweet friend this weekend, and in an attempt to take a  4-person self-y (do those exist?) we caught her little man sneaking in on Ella's pacifier! 

Baby, Burrito, and Birthday

Josh planned lots of fun things and treats for my birthday over the weekend. We celebrated last night with giant burritos at Mad Mex!
